The forest, the labyrinth, the otherworld, the underworld, the sea, and the depths of the sea are all poetic and symbolic descriptions of how we perceive the unconscious as a realm. It is where we are when we are lost, and it is where we need to go in order to find ourselves.

Men’s Temenos Journey
Rescheduled for Spring of 2022
Index, Washington

A Mythic Adventure

You are invited on a mythic adventure—a rigorous journey that will traverse the veil of underworld and myth and reconnect you to your essence, your deep Self. This exploration will call you away from the hum-drum of your every day life and all its domestic duties, inviting you into the wilds of the North Cascades, a place where you will encounter your wild self and be met and mirrored by the Sacred Wild.

Through the power of myth and place; the potency of play and adventure; the important vulnerability of the Way of Council; and the practice of nature-based ritual and ceremony, this journey will court you into a sacred circle created by men, mountains, forest, and river where you will be seen, witnessed, and valued as an integral member of the sacred circle of life.

Your personal heroic journey will be held in the collective allowing you to step out boldly out of the shadows and embrace your authentic individuality and reconnect you to your wild and meant-for purpose in life. Come into this sacred circle and recover your relationship with the Sacred Wild!

Wild Play

This journey is situated in the Skykomish Valley, a place where humans have been at the work of meaning-making for millennia. Within these forests we will wander, walk, and encounter wild others who will provide us insight into our mythic story. Our large camp site sits next to "The Sky", a beautiful whitewater river that features several class IV and V rapids as well as boasting the largest, most significant whitewater drop near Seattle, the Boulder Drop, which you will have the opportunity to experience.

The Skykomish has a long tenured reputation as an outstanding whitewater adventure, and has been the main whitewater attraction in the area since people began rafting in Washington decades ago. This watershed adventure will provide the wild play that is so desperately needed as part of this deep soul recovery work.

A Sacred Circle

This intimate retreat holds space for twelve men, providing both personal connection and space to do one’s own wild journeying. If you are searching for a way to make meaning of vocational or relational endings; if you have an unprocessed grief or loss; if you are experiencing life as you know it deconstructing; and if you are searching for a community of men who are seeking an integration with spirituality and the natural world, this is a weekend you will not want to miss!

*While completely soulful and spiritual in practice, this retreat is not religious and does not require any particular religious orientation.
